Doing Summer Blend Puzzles

Students will start the activity by choosing a flower with a blend on it . My daughter chose the flower with the blend “gr”.

Once there are two pictures that match the blend puzzle piece, it is completed and they can move on to a new blend and start again.

Another way this could be completed, is to have all of the blend puzzle pieces laid out on a table or even the floor. Students will then sort through all of the picture puzzle pieces, matching the pictures with the correct blend.

If you have younger (or struggling) students that would be overwhelmed by the number of puzzle pieces in this activity, scale it back. You can either provide them with fewer blends or have them match the blend puzzle piece with only one picture. Once they master those, you can slowly add in more.
