Getting Spring CVC Word Puzzles Ready

It is recommended that you print this resource on cardstock and laminate so that it can be used for years to come. When cutting out something so many pages, I always use my paper cutter. This makes the job quick and easy!

For storage, I recommend using these plastic pencil holders or ziploc baggies. This will keep all of the cards in one place, while also keeping them from getting mixed up.

Doing Spring CVC Word Puzzles

After laying out all of the pieces, students can choose a spring puzzle piece that has a picture on it. This students chose the letter p.

They will then search for the letter that the picture starts with. Pot starts with the letter p so they placed this puzzle piece after the picture puzzle piece.

They continued this until the puzzle had all four puzzle pieces.

If you think that your students will be overwhelmed by having all twenty puzzle at once, start small. You can give students one puzzle per vowel. As they master those, you can add another and then another until all twenty puzzles are out.
