There is something absolutely gorgeous about leaves changing colors in the fall. This is seriously one of my favorite times of the year. I always love bringing these stunning colors into the classroom (or home), especially for this fun alphabet leaf activity. I think it is so important to provide little learners with learning activities that get them up and moving around and this does just that! Are you looking for more fall ideas, activities, and printables to do at home or in the classroom? If so click here.

Kids can practice recognizing their letters with this leaf activity

You honestly do not need much to do alphabet leaf activity: a sharpie, a rake, and some leaves. Need a kid friendly rake? I found our rakes at Target in the summer clearance, but here is a good one that can be delivered straight to your door! I purchased some fall colored leaves from Amazon, but if you live somewhere that is lucky enough to experience the fall season (not sure much here in Texas), then real leaves work too!

I wrote the letters of the alphabet on the different leaves. I purchased one pack from the above link and that was perfect for my daughter. If you are doing a classroom or several kids, then you may want to order a couple or packages of  leaves. I scattered the leaves on the floor and had my daughter rake them up.

This alphabet Leaf Activity is perfect for preschool and kindergarten students in the fall. It gets students moving and having fun learning.

As she was raking the leaves, I encouraged her to look for different letters. She would tell me the letter that she saw and then we would talk about the sound it would make. Sometimes we would talk about different words that start with that specific letter. Other times I would ask her to trace the letter with her finger.

This alphabet Leaf Activity is perfect for preschool and kindergarten students in the fall. It gets students moving and having fun learning.

Can you not find a resource that you would LOVE to have for your classroom? Contact me and I would be happy to make it for you.

I hope that you and your students enjoy alphabet leaf activity!
