It’s time for another Animal Alphabet Letter of the Week Craft! For those of you just joining us, we have been doing a letter a week activity featuring fun animals corresponding to each letter of the alphabet. These crafts are perfect for preschoolers and kindergarteners who are learning their letters and letter sounds. This week we are working on Animal Alphabet P is for Parrot. Join the fun!

Getting the Animal Alphabet P is for Parrot Craft Ready
Choose whether you’d like your students to have the tracing version of the craft (includes dotted letters to trace “P p is for Parrot” at the bottom of the page), or the non-tracing version. Print out enough letters for each student. Also be sure to print off enough copies of the craft pieces for each student (plus a couple extras for mistakes).
Doing the Animal Alphabet P is for Parrot Craft
Do your students know what a parrot is? Parrots are brilliantly colored birds found in tropical regions of the world (download these Habitat Puzzles and talk more about animals found in tropical rainforests). Today’s craft will transform the letter P into an adorable parrot. The first step in completing the craft is to color the P, which will form the body of the parrot.
My kids wanted to color their P in every shade of green they could find. You may choose to provide children with a Parrot Field Guide to show pictures of different kinds of parrots and provide inspiration for their designs.
After coloring, my kids traced the “P p is for Parrot” text below the letter. This is optional and there are also sheets which do not include the tracing text.
Once they finished coloring and tracing, I passed out the paper with the craft pieces on it. My kids colored each piece and, using child-safe scissors, carefully cut each piece out of the sheet.
Next, they used the example as a guide and glued the craft pieces (an eye, beak, three feathers, beak, and a chest) onto the letter P.
The end result is so cute and totally worthy of an honored spot on the fridge! You can also choose to save each project and bind them into an Animal Alphabet Book at the end of the series.

Hi! Thank you for all of your wonderful resources. I went to download the letter P Animal Alphabet craft and it links to the letter O. Just thought I would let you know! Thank you for all you do!
Oh no! I have that fixed now.
Thanks for letting me know.
I love these crafts! Thank you so much! I’ve been going through downloading them all but can’t get P – Z. I write in my name and e-mail and click the button and it says “submitting” and just stays on that. I even went back to some of the other ones I downloaded to see if they wouldn’t work anymore, but I can still get the first half of the alphabet. I’m not sure what to do!
