Do you do letter of the week activities with your preschoolers? For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Letter of the Week, it is a practice which devotes an entire week to learning about one letter- the way it looks, how it sounds, words that begin with that letter, etc. This week we are continuing with our Animal Alphabet Letter of the Week crafts with O is for Owl. Join us!

Supplies for the Animal Alphabet O is for Owl Craft
Getting the Animal Alphabet O is for Owl Craft Ready
Choose whether you’d like your students to have the tracing version of the craft (includes dotted letters to trace “O o is for Owl” at the bottom of the page), or the non-tracing version. Print out enough letters for each student. Also be sure to print off enough copies of the craft pieces for each student (plus a couple extras for mistakes).
Doing the Animal Alphabet O is for Owl Craft
I told my kids we were going to be doing an “O is for Owl” craft. We talked about what color owls might be and they chose to color their owls brown.
After coloring, my kids traced the “O o is for Owl” text below the letter. This is optional and there are also sheets which do not include the tracing text.
After they finished coloring and tracing, I passed out the paper with the craft pieces on it. My kids colored each piece and, using child-safe scissors, carefully cut each piece out of the sheet.
Using the example as a guide, they then glued the craft pieces (two eyes, two wings, a face and a beak) onto the letter O.
I think their owls came out just perfect! We will be saving them to bind into an Animal Alphabet Book at the end of the series!
