We are back with our Animal Alphabet Letter of the Week Series! This special series is dedicated to helping you teach your students and children the letters of the alphabet in a fun, hands-on way. Each week we share alphabet crafts that your child can color, cut, trace, and glue to make a fun animal that begins with the featured letter! Let’s get back to it with this G is for Goat craft!

Getting the Letter G Craft Ready

Print enough letter G and craft sheets for every student. You may want to print extras in case students decide they need a do-over for any reason.

Doing the Letter G Craft

Have students color the letter G as they wish. My creative kiddos love to use wild colors, which I think makes their crafts extra special!

You may also have lots of questions about what colors goats really are. Consider having resources available for the children who enjoy looking at real pictures and modeling their projects after those.

Once students have colored their letters, they can trace the “G g is for goat” sentence below the letter. If you prefer not to have students trace, there is a printable in the pack without the sentence as well.

You may want to include a reading of the book The Three Billy Goats Gruff to your children this week. It’s a fun story that children are sure to be thinking of as they complete their G is for Goat crafts! (you may even hear a few students retelling the story as they color… “trip trap trip trap, who’s that trip-trapping over my bridge?”)

Next, children can color the craft pieces that go along with the letter G craft. The craft pieces include two eyes, two horns, a mouth, an ear, and of course a beard.

Last, children can look at the example attached to their craft sheets to glue each piece in the appropriate place on their letters.

Their finished projects are really quite wonderful! We are saving each one to bind into an Animal Alphabet book when we’re done!

    Hello,
When I download the craft, it is for Letter F and not for G.
