When I was teaching, I always loved using interactive readers. They are a great tool to help improve reading skills and increase vocabulary. My new freebie, I See Ocean Animals Interactive Reader, allows students to do both of these things while learning about ocean animals. Animal words can be tricky and this resource will help students to better retain what they are learning. Another benefit of this Ocean Animal Interactive Reader is that it improves fine motor control in young kids, which is critical when they are learning to write. Are you looking for more ocean ideas, activities, and printables to do at home or in the classroom? If so click here.

This resource contains 9 popular ocean animals. Each page will have a picture of an animal and say “I see…” with an empty box following. Students will either write or glue the name of the animal in that box. It comes differentiated to allow you to better serve your students. The easiest level would require students to only cut and glue the the names of the animal to the correct animal.

The middle level has students trace the words, prior to cutting and gluing.

The most difficult level would require students to simply write the name of the animal inside the box on each page.

Once you decide which level you will be using, putting together the book is very easy. You will simply print out the pages and students will complete according to their level. Once the pictures have been colored and the animal’s name is written or glued in the appropriate space, they will just need to staple the book together.

I would like to see a little book focusing on spatial locations. Example: “I see a cat [in]the box.”…”I see a dog [under] the bed.”…etc. Thanks
That’s a great idea! Thank you!!!
Hi! I see this is no longer available. Is there somewhere I can buy it, please? Thank you! This would be perfect for my special needs class!
Hi there Jennifer! I just checked and the freebie is working. You can find the download button at the bottom of the page. I hope you enjoy it.
It is not working for me either. I was hoping to use it with my students next week. Is there another way to get it?
It is also not working for me. When I click on the Download Here button, nothing happens. Is there a different way to locate this great resource?
