Bats can be super creepy, BUT Educlips has the cutest bats ever. How could I resist making a Rhyming Bats Literacy Center for YOU?! Learning is always much more fun when you can incorporate themed stuff anyways – especially during the holidays. Are you looking for more bat ideas, activities, and printables to do at home or in the classroom? If so click here. If you are wanting to see everything Halloween related, click here.

A bat rhyming activity for kids to practice matching rhyming words

Rhyming Bats Literacy Center includes ten pages of rhyming puzzles, an “I Can” page for students, and a worksheet. I recommend printing the puzzles and “I Can” page on cardstock and laminating for extra durability.

Rhyming Bats is the perfect addition to your literacy centers during the fall and Halloween months. These printables are perfect for kindergarten and first grade.

Students will look at the picture on each bat and find the picture that rhymes with it. They will then place the puzzle pieces together once the match is found. They will continue this until all puzzles pieces are put together.

Rhyming Bats is the perfect addition to your literacy centers during the fall and Halloween months. These printables are perfect for kindergarten and first grade.

When you are first starting out (especially with younger and/or struggling students), I found it easiest to start with only a few puzzles. As students master those, you can easily add more in. We want our students to be successful and not get overly frustrated and I found this the best way to set them up for success!

After students complete all of the rhyming puzzles, they can then complete the worksheet. Since you cannot be in twenty places at once, this will be a perfect way for you to see what your students are capable of and which ones may possibly need a little more work. It is also a great way for your students to learn to keep them accountable in their learning too!

Jennifer I downloaded the rhyming bats and when I printed them out the whole picture did not print. I tried on two different copiers and had the same results.

Hi Doreen- Can you try printing it with a different printing program? Sometimes that solves the issue!
