I LOVE these books about colors. When I am teaching colors to my students at the beginning of the school year, I always start each lesson with one of these books. My students love them and so do I. Here are my favorite color books.

Summer is in full gear here in Texas and what better way to celebrate than with a Summer Syllable Sort. This product is something that you can easily do at home over the summer for a refresher activity or place in a center for classroom use. Teachers and parents have enough on their plate so low prep is sometimes the right answer and this resource requires you to do very little. Simply print and laminate for extra durability. Cut out a few cards and then you are ready to go!

Typically during the summer months, kids are not in school so it is even more important that they are being read to or given the opportunity to read by themselves, if they are old enough. What better way to do this than to plug in some books about summer? Below are my favorite twelve summer books for little kids.

The activities in Phoneme Segmentation will help students to focus on breaking up words into sounds, also known as phoneme segmentation. This document provides the teacher a variety of ways of introducing and reinforcing the material in whole group, small group, or centers. There are five different activities included in this file, focusing on words with 2,3,4, and 5 phonemes. It is recommended that you laminate the materials for durability before using.

Summer BINGO is a great way to make teaching (or reviewing) the summer season fun! It is also a perfect game for the end of year or classroom parties. You can do Summer BINGO whole group or even place in a center for a small group of students to complete.
