One of my favorite things about this time of the year is seeing my students’ excitement about the up-coming holidays. They always love when we do holiday and winter inspired activities in our classroom. To go along with our reindeer unit study, we made this Craft Stick Reindeer Craft. This craft is the perfect addition to your unit study and adorable classroom decoration.

Materials Needed For The Craft Stick Reindeer Craft:

  • Craft Sticks (3 for every child)
  • Glue
  • Brown Construction Paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Googly Eyes
  • Red or Brown Pom Pom
  • Brown Pipe Cleaner

This easy-to-make reindeer craft requires no preparation and all of the materials can be found in most early childhood classrooms. If you don’t have some of the supplies, you can find them at most dollar stores too.

Doing The Craft Stick Reindeer Craft:

To begin making this reindeer craft, your students will glue the ends of three craft sticks together to create a triangle. We used the jumbo craft sticks but you can use the regular size ones too.

After the glue dries, your students will cut a triangle out of the brown construction paper and glue it onto the back of the craft sticks. To help them cut the correct size, they can first trace the craft stick triangle onto the brown construction paper and then cut it out and glue it on the craft sticks.

Next, your students will glue the googly eyes on to the middle of the brown construction paper. If you don’t have googly eyes, your students can cut circles out of white and black paper and create their own eyes. They will then glue a red or brown pom pom onto the point of the craft stick triangle.

After the glue dries, your students will cut a brown piper cleaner in half and glue each half onto the back of the craft stick triangle for the reindeer’s antlers. They will then cut another brown pipe cleaner in half and wrap it around the other one.

Hello, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues. When I look at your website in Ie, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, terrific blog!
