Christmas is a magical time of the year. And while we know and understand our customs and culture there is a wide variety of ways to celebrate Christmas Around the World.
Our students are overjoyed as we countdown to Christmas Day.
We make adorable Popsicle Stick Rudolph Crafts and decorate our classroom with them. The kids always agree that Rudolph is their favorite reindeer. What’s not to love about Rudolph? As we’re bringing in the holiday cheer we have some math fun with our Christmas Numbers Match-ups.
We always make various Christmas tree crafts as we begin to celebrate the Christmas season. We have a blast as we create this Fork Painted Christmas Tree. And while we’ve got the paint out we make our all-time fave trees these Christmas Thumbprint Art Crafts. This is a craft parents love to get as keepsakes.
We sing Jingle Bells so many times I can’t get it out of my head for months.
Because Christmas is a great way to get kids to learn without realizing their learning.
To connect Christmas traditions and customs that they already know with Christmas in other places in our world, I’ve created Christmas Around the World Crafts and Activities so our students can learn and research about this holiday in a hands-on way. Through this activity, our kids will be exposed to 10 different multicultural Christmas celebrations.
If you cannot teach Christmas all by itself be sure to take a look at our Winter Holidays Around the World Crafts and Activities Unit.

Christmas Around the World Interactive Book
Kids will make their own interactive book filled with interesting facts and fascinating things to see in each of the 10 countries we are learning about. Our students love making these books as they are able to create them themselves by coloring, labeling, and writing details.
There are 4 different interactive books where you can choose to have your class do as many as you want for this unit.

Powerpoint with Pictures
There is a PowerPoint for each of the 10 countries to help students explore the way they all celebrate Christmas. There are real pictures so they can get a real feel for the holiday in these various places.

Christmas Around the World Graphic Organizers and Writing Paper
Students can work independently or together to complete the graphic organizer for each country. They can then use this organizer to complete their writing on what they have studied and learned.
You can also break the class into groups and have each group complete the organizer and writing about their selected country.
Each of the 10 countries have a graphic organizer and a writing sheet.

Christmas Around the World Multicultural Activities and Crafts
Our kids can be world travelers as they learn about new traditions and the way Christmas is celebrated in these 10 countries. They will create a breifcase craft and get a badge to put on their breifcase as each new holiday is learned.
This multicultural activity and craft is packed with different ways to learn about each culture. There are activities and crafts included for each nation with different ways they can all be completed. This is a great way to make things work for your particular classroom and for various learning levels and styles.

Compare and Contrast Christmas Around the World
Comparing and contrasting is a great way for kids to show what they know about the different places we’re learning about in the holiday study.
Depending on what works for your students you can do this as a class, in groups, or as independent work. It’s wonderful to see how some things are similar and how some are very unique.

Christmas Around the World Vocabulary Cards
There are vocabulary cards for each country being studied in this unit. They are bright and interactive. You can use them as props, use them for a matching game, or sort them and talk about them.
Before we play games or use them for activities I like to hang them up around the class so students can get familiar with the words.
To save on ink they can also be printed out in black and white, I laminate them so they can be used year after year.

Christmas Around the World Emergent Reader
Each of the countries we are learning about comes with a 10 page colored (black and white also included) emergent reader.
These are filled with learning everything from traditions, food, facts, and fun pictures so we can read and share with our family everything we’ve learned.

These books are a great way to round up all the different things we’ve mastered throughout the unit study. With the emergent readers, all can be completed or you can choose a few depending on the time you have for this unit. They are also great to send home with our little learners to use over the winter break for reading.
