Getting the Letter I Craft Ready

Print enough letter I and craft sheets for every student. You may want to print extras in case students decide they need a do-over for any reason.

Doing the Letter I Craft

Have each student color their letter. Note that this craft differs slightly from our previous alphabet crafts in that the letter is not actually part of the animal! In this craft, the letter is actually a branch that the iguana will be holding onto.

Once students have colored their letters, they can trace the “I i is for Iguana” sentence below the letter. If you prefer not to have students trace, there is a printable in the pack without the sentence as well.

Next, children can color the craft pieces that go along with the letter I craft. The craft pieces in this craft will make the entire animal! They include a body, two legs, a spine, and a tail.

Some students may be unfamiliar with iguanas and appreciate a resource showing what they look like in real life. Encourage students to color their iguanas as they please, whether that be similar to the real things or as their imagination leads!

After children have colored their craft pieces, offer them some child-safe scissors to cut the pieces out.

Last, students will glue their craft pieces to their letter I. They can use the example picture on the craft sheet as a guide.

Their finished products are fun to show off on an alphabet wall, or save them to bind together into an animal alphabet book at the end of the series!

Love this craft but it is not showing up in my inbox. I tried it several times on two different emails and it never did show up.
