We love letters and find it so exciting as our students begin learning the alphabet.

The building block of literacy for our little learners is the alphabet. How our students start to relate letters in print to language will carry with them for a lifetime.

So when young readers connect letters in print to the sounds they hear, it helps them to begin to recognize letter sounds.

To further their learning of the alphabet, students can create Alphabet Posters and will feel accomplished when they see them hanging around our classroom and at home.

As they master their recognition of letters, we then expand with Play Dough Alphabet Match-Ups.

We explore the alphabet in a hands-on way with our DIY Tactile Alphabet Cards. This is a fun activity, incorporating learning and doing while having fun.

When we’re able to integrate learning the alphabet with crafts, our students will love learning and find their ABCs exciting.

I love having weekly themes, especially when we can build on it while learning the alphabet throughout the year. So I’ve created this Alphabet Crafts Uppercase and Worksheet Bundle.

Preschool and kindergarten students are able to show what they know while creating amazing crafts while working on their uppercase letter recognition.

Would you like another alphabet craft? Take a look at our Animal Alphabet Letter Crafts. Students can connect letters with fun crafts and adorable animals.

Crafts and worksheets to be done for each letter of the alphabet

Inside You’ll Find:

  • 31 alphabet craft templates, each vowel letter comes with two crafts, 1 for long vowels and 1 for short vowels

Using the Alphabet Craft Uppercase Activity

Students will have so much fun cutting and gluing their alphabet craft and will then be able to work on the corresponding alphabet worksheet to show what they know.

Another way this activity could be used is to print it out on white paper and have your students color their alphabet craft.

Once your little artists have completed their craft, they’ll then work on their ABC worksheet. This is perfect for building on the recognition of each letter.

Students will be using the worksheets to identify the uppercase letter, practice tracing the letter, and then writing the letter on their own. Then they are ready for tracing words and sentences that go with each particular letter they are working on.

These art projects are cleverly intertwined into the letters that our kids don’t even realize they are learning.
