Help your students get into the spirit of spring with these Flowers Blend Match-Ups. Your students will have so much fun reviewing their blends that they will have no idea that they are learning.

Flower craft with the blend "fl" in the center with petals that have pictures of words that begin with "fl."

Flowers Blend Match-Up contains twenty different flower blends covering l blends, r blends,  and s blends. There is an option that allows students to match up the blends based on colors or a mixed color petal option for students that need more of an option.

Flowers Blend Match-Up is the perfect addition to your spring literacy centers. This free printable is perfect for kindergarten and first grade students.

Getting Flowers Blend Match-Up Ready

Print the match-ups on cardstock and laminate. This will allow you to use the product year after year.

Doing Flowers Blend Match-Up

Students will start the activity by choosing a flower with a blend on it . My daughter chose the flower with the blend “cl”.

Flowers Blend Match-Up is the perfect addition to your spring literacy centers. This free printable is perfect for kindergarten and first grade students.

Students will then sort through all of the petals with pictures looking for the ones that have the blend “cl”.

Flowers Blend Match-Up is the perfect addition to your spring literacy centers. This free printable is perfect for kindergarten and first grade students.

Each flower has six petals with a visual. Once the flower has has six petals representing the corresponding blend, they can move on to a new blend and start again.

Flowers Blend Match-Up is the perfect addition to your spring literacy centers. This free printable is perfect for kindergarten and first grade students.

Another way this could be completed, is to have all of the flowers laid out on a table or even the floor. Students will then sort through all of the petals and place each one at the correct flower.

If you have younger (or struggling) students that would be overwhelmed by the number of puzzle pieces in this activity, scale it back. Provide them with only a few of the blends. Once they master those, you can slowly add in more.

I really love these! However, I would love to see things like this made in black and white so that my students decorate and I will also save on the tremendous amounts of colored ink I go through. My school does not pay for ink. Therefore, I find myself not purchasing or even downloading many games for that simple reason.
Just a thought to make them in a color version and black a white. This way it may be more accessible to teachers on a tight budget.
I do appreciate your work as I am not talented in this area.

Hi there! I am stumped with one of your pictures with the SC blend. I have pondered and pondered… it’s the image of the woman in the lab. I’m thinking Scientist, but that doesn’t make the /sc/ sound. Help! Haha!

Thank you so much for this freebie! I love it!

Hi there Amy, you’re right it doesn’t make the /sc/ sound but it is a scientist. Sometimes I’m limited with what I able to use. Thank you for checking! I hope you enjoy it
