This Earth Day Emergent Reader will be the perfect addition to your Earth Day lesson plans this spring. This free printable comes in color and black and white and is perfect for pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade.

Earth Day will be here before we know and what better way to teach our students about this special holiday than having them create their very own Earth Day Emergent Reader.

There are so many fun ways to incorporate Earth Day into our curriculum. We enjoy laughing and playing our Earth Day Bingo and reading our stacks of Earth Day Books. We explore more with our Editable Earth Day Puzzles that are perfect for literacy and math units.

To really show what we know about Earth Day we dive in with our science unit Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We love learning firsthand what we can do to save the earth.

This resource will be the perfect addition to your lesson plans and allow your students to combine social studies, science, and language arts.

The Earth Day Emergent Reader contains 11 different pages to help teach students about this special holiday.

It walks students through a very basic introduction to what Earth Day is about. Each page contains one to two sentences and then has an image above it.

If you choose to do black and white, you can have your students color their Earth Day Emergent Reader prior to reading. I always find this helps introduce students to the material, while also providing them with some ownership over their own book.
