Doing Pirate Color by Sight Word Activity

Pirate Color by Sight Word is an activity that can be used in a variety of ways. Your students can do it for morning work, for early finishers, or even in literacy centers.

When students are first doing this activity, I always encourage them to color the crayons first so they can quickly see which color the sight word needs to be.

Students will then carefully color the picture one block at a time. This student started with the letter “the”. The saw that it was under the red crayon and then started coloring all of the blocks that had “the” in it.
