We are always looking for new ways to get resources to our students, either for virtual or in-person learning. As a way to work on word building, we’ve created these Kindergarten CVC Spelling Digital Activities. They are available on three different platforms: Google Slides, Seesaw, or Boom Cards.
Throughout our curriculum, we are discovering new ways to make learning enjoyable. Digital activities and games are cool ways to do this.
As our kids learn to transfer sounds into words teaching CVC words is integral for our emergent readers. The excitement they show when they build their words is priceless.
So if we’re able to make a connection between digital activities and language, our students will see learning as interesting and develop a love of reading.
Seeing the joy in our little learner’s eyes when they develop these skills is what it’s all about!!
I look for different ways to develop our students’ reading by finding new ways to incorporate literacy into learning resources. We dive into farm animals with this Farm and Color Emergent Reader and these Farm Literacy Centers.
As we work on word building and mastering this skill, we show what we know with our Flower CVC Word Building. And nothing says fun like putting words together with Dinosaurs.
Because playing literacy games and activities is a great way to get kids learning without realizing they’re learning.
Sounding out small words is one of the first steps our littlest learners take when learning to read. When students begin to read, we have them isolate what they hear, sound by sound.
To connect the digital world with literacy, we’ve created these Kindergarten CVC Spelling Digital Activities. Stretching and blending together these consonant, short vowel, consonant words encourages our developing readers to take on unfamiliar words.
Implementing these CVC Digital Activities will help your students to build their phonemic awareness using single-syllable words in a hands-on way.

Using the Kindergarten CVC Spelling Digital Activities
These digital activities are user-friendly and come with specific step by step instructions and illustrations to guide you through. We’ll show you how to assign the spelling activities to your students in a matter of minutes either via Google Slides, Seesaw, or Boom Cards.

To start working on spelling their words, students will identify the picture in the tree on their screen’s bottom left-hand side. This student is working on the picture “bug.”
They will then search for the consonant letter that the picture starts with. I always encourage my students to say the letter sounds out loud as choose the letter to drag into the first box.

After the initial sound is found, they will then look at the remaining letters and find the short vowel sound and then the ending consonant sound.

Here a student is spelling out the CVC word “log”. Once she identified the picture, she then dragged the letters to each box to spell out the word.
Your students can build words all year long with our Word Building Mega Bundle. It has 12 themed word building activities.
