Fall is such a fun time of year. The excitement of being back in school, the changes in weather and all of the holidays are what makes this time of year AMAZING!!

There are so many activities we enjoy doing during the fall. We emerge ourselves into our fall STEM learning activities and bring out our creative side making adorable our owl babies craft. And our students request to play fall bingo more times than I can count.

Early reading helps students to build their language so they can express their feelings, thoughts, and ideas.

So if we’re able to make a connection between this season and learning to read, our students will love learning and find reading exciting.

I always love using interactive readers. They are a great tool to help improve our students’ reading skills and increase their vocabulary.

Interactive readers also help students to actively engage in their reading material. This is a fun activity, incorporating learning and doing while having fun.

Preschool and kindergarten students are able to show what they know with this hands-on I See Fall Interactive Reader.

Another benefit of this fall interactive reader is that it improves fine motor control in young kids, which is critical when they are learning to write.

Want even more fall ideas for your students? Be sure to take a look at all of our Fall Crafts For Little Learners.

This fall resource contains 9 popular items related to fall. Each page will have a picture of an animal and say “I see…” with an empty box following.

Using the I See Fall Interactive Reader

Once you are ready to start this fun fall literacy activity, you’ll print the sheets on regular paper and your class will be ready to start putting their books together. There are several ways to differentiate these books for your little learners.

Students can either write or glue the name of the item in that box. You’re able to customize them to better meet your students where they’re at.

To get this freebie, use the ‘click here to download’ button at the bottom of this page.

To simplify this activity you can require students to only cut and glue the names of the fall item to the correlating picture.

For more difficulty, you can have your students trace the words, prior to cutting and gluing.

To make things more challenging you can have students simply write the name of the fall themed item inside the box on each page.

Once the pictures have been colored and the fall themed names are written or glued in the appropriate space, the books will just need to be stapled together.
