When I was teaching, I always LOVED the 100th day of school festivities. It was a crazy, fun day filled with hands-on learning activities. One of my students favorite things about this day was when we had our 100 Yummy Things activity.  You add food to an activity and students are instantly engaged and having fun. 100 Yummy Things is no exception at all.

To paper mats titled "100 Yummy things" and "100 pieces of.." with a child putting objects on the mat.

100 Yummy Things has two different options to help you with your 100th Day of School celebrations. Students can either practice counting to 100 using food or objects found in the classroom. You choose!

100 Yummy Things is the perfect addition to your 100th day of school celebrations. This free printable will encourage your students to practice counting to 100. It's perfect for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade students.

Getting 100 Yummy Things Ready

All you will need to do is print off the page provided below and then you are set. I recommend printing on cardstock so it is a little more durable while your students are covering it with food.

You can either ask for class donations for ten different kinds of food or make a trip to the store for a bunch of different food. Either way is fine. I always did a bunch of different small pieces of candy and then snack foods. That was easiest and my kids always seemed content with the selection of candies.

When I did this activity with my students, I always moved their tables together in small groups. I gave each table ten paper plates with each off on each one. This made it a lot easier for everyone counting out the pieces of food for their printable. It also meant that I could walk around and enjoy the activity with my students and not be running around giving everyone food for the activity.

Doing 100 Yummy Things

Students will practicing counting 100 yummy things by placing ten of each food in the different circles. Once each one has ten pieces, they have reached 100!

Do not want to use food? No problem! I have included a different page that will let your students choose things around the classroom to fill up their 100 Pieces of… Printable.

Thanks for a cute game to play and learn with items already around the house! And it changes depending on what we decide to count so that keeps the learning fresh. Kudos on a wonderful idea.

Amazing blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple tweeks would really make my blog jump out. Please let me know where you got your theme. Many thanks
