Cookie Counting Clip Cards is great math activity for students to practice numbers and counting anytime of the year. This free printable is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade students. It covers numbers zero through twenty.
Getting Cookie Counting Clip Cards Ready
Getting this free printable ready is easy. All you need to do is print on cardstock and laminate. This allows the center to be used year after year.
I love storing my clip cards in a plastic pencil case. This keeps all of the pieces together and students can easily grab the center and take it back to their desk to complete it.
Doing Cookie Counting Clip Cards
Students will start the activity by choosing a clip card from the pile.
Next, they will count how many different chocolate chips they see on the card.
Once they have their final number, they will place a clothespin on the correct number.
This student counted 7 chocolate chips so they placed their clip card on the number seven.
Once they are done, they will set the card to the side and then choose a new card. They will continue this until all of the clip cards have been completed.
If you do not want your students to use clip cards, no worries! You can use mini erasers or any other manipulative. Students will count how many objects are on the card and then they will place their manipulative on the number.

I downloaded the Cookie Counting Clip cards last year and noticed the card/cookie that should have 13 chocolate chips on it is missing 7 chips on the top cookie. It should be a 10 and a 3 to follow the pattern on the other cards. And it doesn’t even have a 6 at the bottom for how many chips are shown or a 13 for how many it should be. The card is unusable. I never contacted you and was excited to see the link on Camp Kinder this week. I thought “YAY! I can get the fixed card!” So I downloaded the file and noticed that it is still not fixed. I REALLY appreciate the time and effort that you put into these materials and love that we get them for FREE! Would you please fix the card for 13. Thanks so much!
