Those last few weeks in the classroom before the holiday break in December can be long!
So to make them easier, we incorporate fun holiday activities for kids into our December lesson plans. We fill our centers with hands-on activities like these Christmas Match-Ups.
We can learn about real reindeer during science while completing this unit and incorporate festive read-alouds from this collection that will help turn your classroom into a Christmas wonderland.
We can do fun Christmas crafts and projects for young kids like this Christmas tree pencil topper activity. And when it’s the last few days before break, we might have a holiday celebration with songs, games, and sweets.
During my holiday celebrations, I like to have something for my students to focus on so that the whole day doesn’t turn into chaos. That is when this Christmas bingo game comes in!

How To Play Christmas Bingo
I created this festive Christmas Bingo game as another way to have fun with your children or students around the holidays. It’s ideal for younger students since it is so visually based, but also has the written descriptions. That means you can adapt this for early ages and grade levels from preschool to 1st or 2nd grades.
Inside You’ll Find:
- 30 Christmas Bingo Game Boards with pictures in color
- 30 Christmas Bingo Game Boards with pictures in black & white
- 30 Christmas Bingo Game Boards with pictures AND words in color
- 30 Christmas Bingo Game Boards with pictures AND words in black & white
- Teacher Calling Cards, in both color and black & white
Materials Needed for Christmas Bingo:
- paper or card stock
- laminating pouches
- laminator
- paper cutter
- manipulatives (counters, goldfish, rocks, buttons, M&Ms, coins, mini erasers, etc.)
Getting Christmas Bingo Ready
Once you purchase and download the Christmas bingo game, you can choose which type of board you’ll be using. Print the Christmas bingo boards, either with words or without, in either color or black & white. I recommend laminating them to make them last for years to come. Lastly, you can print and cut out the teacher calling cards and put them into a plastic bag or a small container.
To play Christmas bingo, find some manipulatives for students to cover the spots on their board with. You can use seasonal things like holiday or winter mini erasers, jingle bells, or red and green mini pom-poms, but you can also use paper, counters, coins, dry-erase markers, M&Ms, or bingo dabbers if you’re using the black & white versions.
After that, everything is ready to go – all that is left is playing with your students! After you’re done playing, store the boards in a ziploc bag, folder, or in your December files to play next year during the Christmas season.
If you need to use up more time, you can easily print them on black and white to allow your children to color in the images as they play the game. This is an ideal way to have them practice fine motor skills. They will love seeing their own unique take on the images, and you’ll love being able to give them something to occupy their time while they learn and have fun.
Using Christmas Bingo in the Classroom
You have many options when it comes to playing this Christmas bingo game! You can play traditional bingo, calling cards until students cover 5 in a row, or you can make it more of a challenge by calling cards until students can create different shapes on their boards, like “T”s, “L”s, or even filling the entire board. Bingo is an engaging game for the whole class to play and is a great thing to do when you have parent volunteers in the classroom too! You can make it even more exciting by giving winners something from your prize box or a Christmas-themed gift!
